Anning Rooms


The Anning Rooms are a new suite of rooms for the use of Members and Patrons. They will open on 3 September 2018.

Located over two floors in the iconic Waterhouse Towers at the heart of the Museum, this exclusive space will celebrate the Museum’s world-class collections and contribution to science. 

Inside the rooms

  • a restaurant serving delicious lunches, snacks and cakes
  • lounge and study areas
  • a spectacular cabinet of curiosities, rising through the lobby
  • reproductions of the original Museum sketches by architect Alfred Waterhouse
  • gallery wall of figures who have shaped the Museum we know and love today

Mary Anning

The Anning Rooms are named in honour of legendary fossil hunter Mary Anning.
