Anning Rooms


The Anning Rooms, a new suite of rooms for the use of Members and Patrons, are now open. 

Located over two floors in the iconic Waterhouse Towers at the heart of the Museum, this exclusive space celebrates the Museum’s world-class collections and contribution to science. 

Inside the rooms

  • a restaurant serving delicious lunches, snacks and cakes
  • lounge and study areas
  • a spectacular cabinet of curiosities, rising through the lobby
  • reproductions of the original Museum sketches by architect Alfred Waterhouse

Important notice

From 24-28 September there will be no step-free access to the Anning Rooms. During this time access will be restricted to the central staircase in Hintze Hall.

Mary Anning

The Anning Rooms are named in honour of legendary fossil hunter Mary Anning.
